Sunflower by the reporting date removed 37 thousand hectares harvested 71 thousand tons with a yield of 18.9 C/ha.
In parallel with the harvest, farmers continue sowing of winter rape. By the reporting date sown oilseed 419 thousand hectares, or 58% of the forecast (2015 – 185 thousand hectares).

Entry into force of the regulations on the labelling of feed, jointly developed by FEFAC and COPA/COGECA
The European Federation of animal feed manufacturers (FEFAC), together with the European farmers ' Association COPA/COGECA welcomes the publication and approval of the European Commission European Standards for the labeling of feed for farm animals (Good Labelling Practice Code). The standards were jointly developed by COPA/COGECA and FEFAC, to standardize requirements for the labeling of feed in the EU.

Feed manufacturers can find there a practical guide on how to make a label for feed, and farmers can learn to find the marking the necessary information to make informed decisions for the proper use of the product.


The challenge of Standards – standardization currently existing in member States practices for the labeling of feed, to make life easier for farmers, agricultural cooperatives and compound feed plants. July 28 was officially announced about the approval of Standards by the European Commission (Official Journal of the European Commission, issue S275). The standards also approved by the EU in the standing Committee on plants, animals, food and feed (SCoPAFF).

The Secretary-General of COPA/COGECA, Pekka Pesonen, said: "European farmers, agricultural cooperatives and feed mills lot of trouble over the regulations. Working together with our knowledge and experience needs to ensure that the necessary information to farmers on the stern would be adequately reflected in its packaging. We are very pleased that we were able to reach a new level of pan-European standardisation and harmonisation in the field of labelling of feed."

FEFAC Secretary General Alexander Doring said the importance of this section of the regulations devoted to the claims: "this section provides a uniform set of requirements for all types of possible claims, both allowed and forbidden, and guidance on the substantiation of the claims. This is a big step towards improving transparency in the food chain, promotes innovative development of the industry".
